Waitangi Day is the day the Treaty of Waitangi was signed on February,6 1840 at Waitangi in the Bay of Islands. 500 Maori chiefs and representatives of the Queen signed it. The agreement was that the Queen’s representatives agreed that Maori would own their lands, forests and rivers. Maori agreed to let the Queen’s representatives make the government and make the laws.
On Waitangi Day, this year, I did the bungy jumping and then I was jumping on the bouncy castle then the family had a rest and went home.
