Pictures in the Mind

I have been practising using words in my writing that give readers pictures in their minds.

Today, our school did Athletics.

We went to the big green courts to get ready. There was a Blue House, Green House, Red House and a Yellow House.

The first event was Vortex. The vortex was shaped like a rugby ball. At the end of it, was a very long tail. The vortex was 33 cm long and very light. When I threw it, it looked like a dart going to the bullseye.
